I took Greek lessons with Marialena for 3 years after I had learned the basics by myself. Her lessons helped me to become fluent in spoken Greek, to get deeper into grammar and to get more secure in writing as well. Though she works very accurate with you, the lessons were always fun and I really appreciated that she found always texts in addition to our book which fitted my personal interests. With this and the different learning methods she is using, I made quick progress and got a lot of compliments from Greeks. I now live in Crete and thanks to the Greek lessons with Marialena I have no problems to take part in the daily life and conversations - I honestly recommend Marialena to anyone who wants or needs to get a profound knowledge in the Greek language. Marialena Terzaki is quite simply a born teacher. She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject, but she has the rare ability of being able to communicate that knowledge and passion to her students. Her lessons are meticulously planned and always interesting and relevant. The homework she sets is marked in great detail and, although nothing escapes her notice, her feedback is always positive, praising the good work and not condemning the mistakes. Even though I am in my 60s and not a natural student of languages, her patience is endless and, with her encouragement, I have accomplished so much more than I ever expected to, or believed to be possible. Above all, Marialena is a delightful person to know and I look forward immensely to my lessons with her.
I have been studying with Marialena for six years and I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in learning Greek, from absolute beginners to advanced students. She is an excellent teacher; rigourous, supremely patient, well-prepared, concise and also lovely company! Her knowledge of the language and linguistics in general are second to none yet at no point does she condescend to her students or belittle what is often a difficult process of learning a new language. In my experience of 8 years as an adult learner of languages, and a host of different teachers, she is absolutely the best.
As an English language teacher myself, I had high expectations from a teacher and I was not disappointed! Marialena is a fantastic teacher, she is so knowledgeable and skilful in her teaching as well as making her lessons so enjoyable! I speak other foreign languages and have never progressed as quickly as I have with Marialena.

Marialena is a great teacher! I am studying Greek with her for 2 years and I have improved my Greek a lot. She has well-structured curricular that covers all aspects, grammar, reading, writing, and speaking. The lecture is student oriented; she focuses on what you are lack of and it is very easy and clear to understand her explanations. During the class, she also provides additional materials besides from the textbook that helps me a lot to understand grammar. Even after the lesson, she is accessible anytime when you have questions and she gives great feedback about the homework. I have no doubt that she is the best!

Marialena is an excellent teacher. Since taking online lessons with Marialena, my Greek has improved tremendously. I was able to speak very basic Greek before I started my lessons with her. Now I have a much greater fluency and understanding of the grammar. My vocabulary has improved dramatically and my conversational Greek is great. I am so happy that I found her (through a recommendation from a friend). Marialena has a very professional but fun way of teaching. She is very committed to ensuring that you understand everything before she moves on to the next level. In short, Marialena is the best teacher I have had. I have always and will continue to sing her praises for her patience in helping me improve and advance in the Greek language.

I am a Greek-American living in Germany. I have a basic knowledge of Greek from home, but never went to Greek school to learn to write. I was hesitant to take lessons because I thought it would be awkward, but after doing a trial lesson with Marialena all my doubts were gone. She really has a gift to make one feel relaxed and understood.  I never expected to make such progress, but Marialena really knows how to tackle difficult topics in a fun way.
